We are proud of the high ratio of adults in our group which ensures that staff can provide the best individual care and attention to each child. Our key person system enables each child to have one special adult to relate to and is a very successful way of building strong relationship between home and the Pre-school.
We recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their young children. We work hard to develop our partnership with parents and keep them informed through newsletters, the notice board and with regular discussions about children's activities & progress
Parents are welcome to join in with children's activities and take an active part in the setting through volunteering. We have a sign up sheet that you can add your name to each week and covers opportunities such as reading books, helping with morning snack, art and craft preparation and washing up. (Please note that regular volunteers will be asked to provide an enhanced DBS. This will be organised by the setting at no cost to you)
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for more details of this statutory framework please refer to ourGeneral Informationpage.
For our two year olds
For our younger children in this group, we have designed a break-away zone. This can help your child settle and play
in a smaller environment and with small groups of children. This is also where they will have sleep time if it is still required

Our hugely popular Pre-school is open to every family in the community and accessible to all children. We aim to support and extend children's knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence by providing well planned and purposeful activities in designated zones for the children to access and enjoy, that are appropriate to the developmental needs of this age group
We have a well appointed garden with grass area and soft sponge surface which protects them from all those grazed hands and knees. Our apple tree provides us with home grown fruit in the late summer and our flower garden attracts butterflies and bees. We have a bird feeder station which the children help to replenish and watch the birdlife eat from inside.
Our sensory flowers and herbs are planted in highly colourful tyres for all to enjoy.
We have recently enhanced the nature area & bug house and incorporated a mud kitchen and den, allowing the children to explore imaginative play
