Our hugely popular Pre-school is open to every family in the community and accessible to all children. We aim to support and extend children's knowledge, skills, understanding and confidence by providing well planned and purposeful activities in designated zones for the children to access and enjoy, that are appropriate to the developmental needs of this age group
Our areas of play include a home corner, small world, construction, messy play, technology and music, reading cosy corner, science and investigation, circle mat and snack table. We have an accessible cloakroom, age appropriate toilet facilities, See photos above or below:
We have a well appointed garden with astro-turf grass. This allows the children full garden access throughout the year despite the weather. In addition a soft sponge surface, protects them from all those grazed hands and knees. Our apple tree provides us with home grown fruit in the late summer and our flower garden attracts butterflies and bees. We have a bird feeder station which the children help to replenish and watch the bird life eat from and also a bug hotel where they can save all those worms, snails and spiders!!
Our sensory flowers, herbs and strawberries are planted in highly colourful tyres for all to enjoy and water
We have enhanced the nature area & mud kitchen, allowing the children many reasons to explore, dig and play imaginatively.

We are proud of the high ratio of adults in our group which ensures that staff can provide the best individual care and attention to each child. Our key person system enables each child to have one special adult to relate to and is a very successful way of building strong relationship between home and the Pre-school.
We recognise parents as the first and most important educators of their young children. We work hard to develop our partnership with parents and keep them informed through newsletters, the notice board and with regular discussions about children's activities & progress
Parents are welcome to join in with children's activities and take an active part in the setting through volunteering. It covers opportunities such as reading books, helping with morning snack, art and craft preparation and washing up. (Please note that regular volunteers will be asked to provide an enhanced DBS. This will be organised by the setting at no cost to you)
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for more details of this statutory framework please refer to ourGeneral Informationpage.
